Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish family. Ryder is the youngest sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder who loved reading at the age of 12 years old, became a reader since Ryder did not have access to television. Ryder began taking acting lessons in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged twelve years old. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas when she was just fifteen years old. Ryder was subject to bullying in high school. Her hope was that acting would bring about a change. Unfortunately that didn't come to pass. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. She got her break through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder continued to play numerous roles that were successful. He was nominated for two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
